Kinship of Polk County works to improve the quality of a child’s life by establishing a relationship with a caring mentor for the purpose of promoting stability, support, friendship and community. Kinship is a non-profit mentoring agency serving children ages 5-18 since 1980. Kinship kids are young people who would benefit from extra support, encouragement and companionship. Kinship mentors are people who are willing and able to invest in a friendship with a child or young person. Kinship mentors may be married, single, male, female, young or old adults. Kinship offers 2 mentoring options: traditional community based mentoring and school mentoring.
