Sun 8/10/2014
The Wisconsin Art Environment Consortium will again sponsor a Plein Air Workshop and Competition at several of its art environments throughout Wisconsin. The workshop instructor at Wisconsin Concrete Park, Bob Tarrell, is a long-time art professor at Edgewood College and a Plein Air painter, and will introduce his style of painting “in open air†for all ages. The Saturday workshop starts with a morning demonstration, followed by hours of painting & ends with critiques. Easels & materials are provided. All plein air paintings done at the park both days are eligible to enter into the competition for $965 in cash prizes. Judging will start at 4:30pm Sunday with an artists’ reception at the Friends of Fred Smith Studio. All ages are welcome to join in the fun of painting in plein air. Winning paintings from the competition at Wisconsin Concrete Park will also be eligible to compete statewide with paintings from other sites in an online judging on the Kohler Foundation website and a second round of cash prizes. Call for more information and to register.
