(October 14, 1921 - October 6, 2010)Marion A. (Cvengros) Alleva, 88, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2010 at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Marion was born on October 14, 1921 in Ironwood, Michigan to Joseph and Julia (Smelko) Cvengros. She graduated from Luther L. Wright HS in 1939. She worked for many years in Chicago, IL for the Wrigley Company payroll department and as proofreader for the Ironwood Daily Globe.
She was a member of the Ironwood American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Hurley VFW Post 1580 Auxiliary for 60+ years holding several offices and chairmanships. She was elected to the Board of Directors for the Senior Citizens Association of Iron County, WI and volunteered at the Hurley Senior Citizens center.
She was married to Anthony "Tony" Alleva in August, 1942. Her husband of 32 years, passed away in 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Jospeh, John, Frank, Edward and four sisters: Anne Yashus, Margaret Early, Amelia Heimsoth and Francis Peterson.
Marion leaves to celebrate her memory, sons, Bill (Pam) Alleva, Centuria, WI, Fred Alleva, Scottsdale, AZ, granddaughter, Nicolle Eider, Lakeville, MN and many much loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 North Lowell Street – P.O. Box 727, Ironwood, Michigan. She will be laid to rest next to her husband and the Hurley Cemetery.
