University of Minnesota Horse Newsletter
Sun 6/30/2013
We are excited to announce the launching a new fee-based program aimed at helping horse owners manage their pastures. This is in response to the numerous requests we get each year from horse owners asking for such a service and information. Pasture is one third the expense of hay, and a well managed, productive pasture can save horse owners a significant amount of money. We've been fortunate to hire Jennifer Earing to help manage the program. Jennifer recently completed her PhD in equine nutrition from the University of Kentucky. Attached is a flier describing the program; please contact Jennifer ([email protected]) with question or visit www.regonline.com/EquinePasture to register online. We are limiting the program to 40 farms, ideally located in central and eastern MN and western WI.
Finally, join the University of Minnesota Equine Extension Program on Facebook for Forage Mondays, Tip of the Week Wednesdays and Fun Things to do with Your Horse Fridays. Check out upcoming events and other timely information. Search "University of Minnesota Extension Horse Team" and become a fan. Our 650th fan will receive a free copy of our award winning poisonous plant book "Plants Poisonous or Harmful to Horses in the North Central United States".
