Balsam Lake Winter Fest Scheduled

Chase away those winter blues at the Balsam Lake Winter Fest February 1-3 in Balsam Lake, WI.

Events are planned for the entire weekend both on and off the ice.

 

The fun begins on Friday with a Pub Crawl which extends through Saturday. Visit your favorite tavern or restaurant and take
part in the festivities with live music/DJ/Karaoke, drink and dinner specials.

Saturday is started of with the bone chilling Polar Plunge!! Participates last year plunged in everything from bikinis to creative costumes.

Noon is the 4X4 Truck Ice Drag Races on the ice drag strip located at Town Bay.  70 trucks competed last year for first place trophies in four different classes.  “King of the Ice" will be crowned for the first place winner!!
There is a feature race for women who compete for a first place trophy.

Feel free to warm up next to the fire and enjoy concessions that will be available or help yourself to some BOOYA (sponsored by the Sportman’s Club). Feeling adventurous?? Get a bird’s eye view by taking a helicopter ride.  Take a peaceful ride through the area by horse and buggy. After the races go to one of the local establishments in town  participating in events, enjoying music, beverages and dinner.

Sunday is the  25th annual Ice Fishing Contest on Balsam Lake. Cash and other prizes will be presented to the first through
third place in various classes. Keep your eye open for the medallion hunt Sunday, the first to find it will collect a $100 reward!
